The Adoption Process:
Once your application
is received, one of our volunteers will contact you and visit
your home to answer any additional questions that you may
have. After your home visit has been completed and you
are considered an "Approved Adopter", we will work to find the
best possible match for your and/or your family.
Sometimes this process may take a while depending on what your
requirements are for your new family member and what labs we
currently have in our program. By staying in close
contact with HLRR once you are approved, it usually expedites
the process. If you see one of our dogs that interests
you, please let us know asap!
Why is there a fee to
adopt from HLRR?
HLRR's required adoption donation is
needed to assist us in covering medical expenses for all dogs
in our program.
Are the Rescued Labs
Healthy?
Once in the HLRR program, each dog is
checked over and brought up to date on DHLPP (Distemper/Parvo)
Booster, Rabies Vaccinations, fecal exams and heartworm
testing. Dogs testing positive for heartworms will
receive heartworm treatment; dogs testing negative for
heartworms will be placed on heartworm preventative.
